Inclusive & Wheelchair-Accessible Play Equipment

What is inclusive, wheelchair-accessible play equipment?

Inclusive playground equipment is designed so that children of all abilities can play together, rather than side by side. Wheelchair-accessible equipment goes a step further with flush, ground-level access, ramps, supportive seating and low transfer heights, so a child using a wheelchair can take part directly. The aim is a playground where no child has to watch from the edge — a priority for SEND and mainstream schools, councils and parks alike under the Equality Act's reasonable-adjustment duties.

The range

Our inclusive range spans every type of play, so an accessible item can be added to almost any scheme, with prices from £1,900:

• Accessible swings — the Wheelchair Platform Swing, Wheelchair Accessible Swing, Compact Wheelchair Accessible Swing, Accessible Swing with Support Seat, Accessible Compact Swing, Accessible Swing – Tall Frame, Inclusive Supportive-Seat Swing, Inclusive Family Swing and the 3-Bay Inclusive Swing Set, which pairs toddler and flat seats with a supported inclusive seat in one frame.
• Nest & basket swings — the Nest Swing, Classic Basket Swing, Round Bird's Nest Rope Swing, Dandelion Themed Nest Swing, Robinia Nest Swing, Double Nest Swing and Triple Basket Swing, with wide rope-net seats that let children swing lying down or side by side with a friend.

• Inclusive bounce — the Rectangular Inclusive Trampoline, flush-mounted for barrier-free access.
• Sensory & musical panels — the Maths Chalkboard Light-Up Play Panel, Speed Race Light-Up Sensory Play Panel and Trio Musical Sensory Play Panel, adapted for children who use wheelchairs to reach and play.
• Sand play — the Inclusive Wheelchair-Accessible Sand Digger, operated straight from a wheelchair with no transfer needed.
• Ramped & sensory units — the Inclusive Ramp-Access Multi-Play Unit, Butterfly Inclusive Play Set, Wheelchair-Accessible Sandpit & Educational Panel Play Unit and Mini Zoo Inclusive Educational Panel Set.

Built for busy public playgrounds

Our inclusive equipment is built from galvanised, powder-coated steel with anti-slip, waterproof HDPE decks, stainless-steel barriers, supportive seating and reinforced rope-net nest seats, with safety features such as ramped entry, tilt limiters and anti-crush gates. Every unit is manufactured to BS EN 1176 (with relevant accessibility provisions) and backed by our standard warranty: 48 months on the whole unit, 10 years on HDPE panels and 15 years on structural steelwork. Where a unit's free-fall height calls for impact-absorbing surfacing, we can advise on the right surface for your site.

Who installs Morti inclusive equipment

Our inclusive range is specified by SEND and special schools, mainstream primary and secondary schools, nurseries and early-years settings, local authorities and parish councils, NHS and care settings, housing developers, holiday parks and visitor attractions. Inclusive projects are often grant-funded, and we're happy to provide the specifications and quotations needed to support a funding bid or tender — including school capital and SEND budgets, Section 106 contributions, the National Lottery and local accessibility grants.
