Inclusive Wheelchair Accessible Roundabout with Seating – Accessible Playground Carousel

Overview

This inclusive wheelchair accessible roundabout is designed to provide shared, social play for wheelchair users and non-wheelchair users together. With a spacious, ground-level platform, users can roll directly onto the roundabout without ramps, ensuring safe and dignified access for SEN pupils, mobility-impaired children and wheelchair users. Curved perimeter handrails create a secure, enclosed environment while still offering excellent visibility and supervision. Two integrated seating areas allow friends, siblings or carers to join the ride, encouraging truly inclusive play and interaction. The open central space accommodates one wheelchair, with supportive grab rails helping users feel stable and confident while the roundabout rotates. Constructed using durable steel with an anti-slip deck, the unit is engineered for long-term public use in schools, parks, playgrounds and community spaces. The smooth rotational mechanism provides controlled, gentle movement suitable for a wide range of users. Fully compliant with EN 1176. An excellent choice for councils, SEN schools and designers seeking a visually appealing, highly inclusive roundabout that supports social, sensory and physical development.
