The Pirate Ship Playground Climbing Frame is manufactured using premium, long-lasting materials specifically selected for public playground equipment, ensuring durability, safety and low maintenance in high-use school and park environments.

The main structure is built from laminated pine timber posts (90 × 90 mm), pressure-impregnated, double-coated and knot-free to provide excellent resistance to weathering and wear. Each post is protected at the top with polypropylene caps, preventing water ingress and extending the lifespan of the timber.

To protect the structure from ground moisture, the equipment is secured using hot-dip galvanised steel ground anchors, lifting the timber clear of direct contact with the soil and significantly reducing the risk of rot.

All platforms are manufactured from anti-slip, waterproof plywood or high-pressure laminate (HPL), making them suitable for year-round outdoor use. Side panels, decorative elements, flags, rudders and flowers are produced from UV-stable HDPE or HPL panels, offering excellent resistance to impact, fading and weather conditions.

Slides are constructed from high-grade stainless steel, paired with durable HDPE or HPL side panels for safety and longevity. The enclosed tube slide is manufactured from LLDPE, providing high resistance to UV exposure and temperature changes commonly experienced in UK playgrounds.

Climbing and access elements include steel-cored ropes with polypropylene braid, connected using robust plastic, stainless steel or aluminium fittings. Rope ladders feature synthetic rungs, while calibrated stainless steel chains are used to minimise finger entrapment risks. Stainless steel bars, ladders and handrails provide corrosion resistance and long-term structural integrity.

Interactive play features such as maze windows and spherical viewing panels are made from impact-resistant polycarbonate, while telescopes combine stainless steel components with HDPE panels. Tunnels and passages include double-wall polypropylene tube sections, with underground connections formed from durable synthetic materials linked to stainless steel profiles.

All fixings are manufactured from stainless steel, with exposed screws either capped with protective plastic covers or fully stainless steel, ensuring safety, durability and a clean finish.
